22/12/2015

The Channel Islands Air Search aircraft, call sign Air Search One, was called out at 9.37 a.m. on 22nd December 2015 by Guernsey Coastguard to search for a missing person in the water at Cobo Bay.

Just prior to getting airborne, at 10.01 a.m., the Service was stood down by Guernsey Coastguard following confirmation that the person had been found safe and well.

An Air Search crew member said "As well as Air Search One, the St. Peter Port Lifeboat, the SJARS Inshore Rescue Boats and Civil Protection Volunteers were all being mobilised to search for an adult female whose clothes had been discovered at Cobo Bay.  Although the Service didn't get airborne on this occasion, the crew members were all relieved to hear that the person had been found safe and well."
