504/2021 Missing Person Guernsey

The service was requested by Guernsey Coastguard to assist with a search for a missing person.

The crew were alerted at 1908hrs and were tasked by Guernsey Coastguard to carry out a search from Longue Hougue to Beaucette Marina, searching for a male wearing a bright green top / possibly a red hoodie, blue jeans and black trainers.

Coming off blocks at 1944hrs Lions’ Pride departed from runway 27 at 1951hrs arriving on scene at 1956hrs. As Lions’ Pride arrived on scene, St Peter Port ILB was stood down, having just completed a search of Houmet Paradis.

A low level visual search of the shoreline was commenced at an altitude of between 100ft and 200ft AMSL at a speed of 90KIAS using Fontenelle Bay and Belle Greve Bay for the turns.

Having just commenced the fourth leg of the search Guernsey Coastguard reported that the missing person had been located safe and well and the aircraft was stood down at 2005hrs.

Lions’ Pride returned to Guernsey, landing at 2009 hrs and was made ready for the next service.
