30/11/2025

Alerted by Guernsey Coastguard at 0010 hrs (all times local) to assist Jersey Coastguard with a search, following a reported credible flare sighting on Jersey’s east coast by a member of the public.  Jersey Coastguard confirmed last reported sighting was 2258hrs on 29th November and St Catherine's Lifeboat had also been tasked.

Coming off blocks at 0100 hrs, Lions' Pride took off from runway 27 at 0110 hrs and headed towards Jersey’s NE coast. Initially tasked by Jersey Coastguard to search Manche Grid box 246 with E/W search legs, working southwards, searching for a possible person in the water.  Weather conditions were fair with good visibility allowing good coverage with the FLIR camera.

On completion of a search of box 246, Jersey Coastguard requested further tasking of a coastal search from Seymour slipway, north to La Coupe Point. With nothing of significance noted, Lions' Pride was stood down at 0230 hrs, returning to Guernsey to land on runway 27 at 0245 hrs and on blocks at 0250 hrs.
