Guernsey Friends of Air Search Home PageIn the President's Report for 2010 we review events which have helped Guernsey Friends of Air Search to raise much needed funds for the charity over the past year. A sum of £40,000 was handed over to the Trustees in June. Click on Diary Dates for fund raising events for 2012 which will be updated throughout the year. NEW Click on the link on the left to read our latest Annual Newsletter for 2011 and earlier years. These detail the fund raising events held each year. Go to the Operations page to see details of searches from 1999 to 2008 (will be updated shortly). Alternatively, if you wish to make a donation to our Organisation, you may send a cheque to the Guernsey Friends of Air Search. We are always keen to encourage interest in the operation and are able to arrange a limited number of evening presentations in the Air Search hangar during the course of year, when up to 20 visitors can be shown around the aircraft and find out more about the service. These evenings usually commence at 6.30pm and last around two hours. If you feel this may be of interest to your company or social club, then do please contact us and we will, subject to availability, try to arrange a mutually convenient date. See also details on the left of our Stamp Appeal We are grateful for the continuing generosity of individuals and companies in the island. It costs a minimum of £10 a year to become a member, or £100 to become a life member. By booking through this site (select the Guernsey flag in the centre) and choosing 'Charities' and 'Air Search (Guernsey Friends)', we will receive a donation based on a percentage of whatever you spend. It costs you nothing and benefits us. Co-Op Share Number - 83322Guernsey Friends of Air Search have their own share number at the Co-Op 83322. We would be most grateful if when shopping there, you remember our organisation and give our number when shopping at their shops. This number covers Lowlands as well as GrandeMarche Foodstores. Whether you are buying beds, a microwave or a few items of food, all contributions help the charity. Maybe you may wish to dedicate the points from all shops on a certain day of the week - a Sunday perhaps! Collecting BoxesRemember our yellow collecting boxes are at a large number of locations throughout the Bailiwick. We still have our box at Guernsey Airport, just before Departures, and also have our collecting boxes on the counters of both the coffee shop upstairs and in the food village in Departures. All loose change gratefully received – you may want to get rid of those Guernsey coins (or notes!) before you leave the island. We have been lucky enough to have been Condor’s charity of the year, and collecting boxes are on all the ferries and in the terminals in the Channel Islands and UK. StampsYou can also donate your used stamps. Over the years we have raised several hundred pounds from the sale of used postage stamps. MerchandiseWe have the usual range of merchandise available, including pens, cotton shoppers, post-it notes, etc, as well as ties with our new logo. Please contact Shirley De Carteret on 246360. Fletchersports in Guernsey now offer an embroidery service to put our logo on items of clothing. Prices vary – please contact them direct.
