Jersey Friends of Air SearchPresident's Report 2001It is my pleasure to present the President’s Report for the twelve months since our last AGM. 2000/2001 has been a busy year in raising funds and now that FLIR is totally up and running, it has been used on numerous occasions already and makes one wonder, “how did the service cope before”. I would like to thank my hard working Committee for all their time and efforts in keeping the Jersey Friend’s foremost in the local arena. It is only with a good Committee that we are able to stay ahead of other charities in finding what is an even smaller amount of money, people are prepared to give to charities these days. We have had our ever-popular Sunday lunches and the last one at the Potteries. Can I thank Ron Baudet for his time and efforts into making them popular. Also for his time in arranging new ties and sweatshirts for sale. Can I also thank Ron McLean for his secretarial skills and may I say that I am sorry to see that Richard Haycock has finally decided to stand down as a committee member, although he is thankfully going to continue to run the collection boxes side of Air Search. Finally, I would like to pay a special thanks to our ever-efficient Treasurer, Derek Short, for his expertise in accounting. His tireless efforts to raise funds for FLIR has proved beyond reasonable doubt, that it is who you know not what you know that brings in the money. Thank you Derek and he will be giving you details of the last years accounts, which shows that C.I.A.S. is in a healthy state of affairs.
